The Buffalo leads the way-

In the heart of the land, where the sky meets water and the stars dance above ancient forests, stands the buffalo — strong, grounded, and unshaken. This buffalo is no ordinary creature. It carries the spirit name of its founder, a Cree woman whose path is lit by ancestors and fueled by purpose. This is the spirit of MPC Inc.

The buffalo leads the way, just as it does in the teachings passed down through generations. When storms rise and the winds howl, the buffalo does not retreat — it faces the storm head-on, guiding others through with courage and certainty. This is what MPC Inc. does for Nations: we go first, we carry the weight, and we make the path clearer for others to follow.

Beneath the buffalo’s feet flows the water of the grandmothers — deep, calm, and wise. These waters are not just reflection; they are direction. They carry the memory of our languages, our songs, and our sacred laws. In the stillness of these waters, the buffalo hears the voices of those who came before, offering guidance on how to walk gently but fiercely in today’s world.

Above the horizon, the moon shines its soft light, cutting through darkness with quiet power. It reminds us that even in the hardest times — in the intergenerational weight of colonialism, trauma, and systemic violence — there is always light. MPC Inc. carries that light forward, illuminating paths to healing, governance, and self-determination.

And surrounding it all are colours of hope — bold, vibrant, unapologetic. These colours tell a truth we all hold close: that there is beauty in survival, in resurgence, in remembering who we are. They represent the hope that healing is possible, that strong communities can be built again, and that our children will walk with pride in who they are.

This is MPC Inc.

We are more than a consulting firm.
We are a movement of healing.
We are systems builders.
We are buffalo leading the way.

About MPC Inc

About Megan Plews

Megan Plews is the founder and principal consultant of Megan Plews Consulting (MPC Inc.), an Indigenous-owned consulting firm supporting communities, organizations, and companies to design and strengthen systems across health, social services, governance, and community wellbeing.

Megan brings experience from across frontline service delivery, organizational leadership, and systems-level planning. Her background includes work in child and family services, addictions treatment and recovery, homelessness and housing initiatives, employment and training programs, and broader social welfare systems. She has also served as a Health Director for a First Nation community, where she led program development, service coordination, and organizational planning.

In addition to leadership roles, Megan has managed complex, multi-year projects, including supporting First Nations in the development and implementation of their own laws and service systems. Her work is known for being practical, grounded, and responsive to real-world conditions.

Megan’s approach is shaped by lived experience, Indigenous ways of knowing, and a deep understanding of how systems affect people on the ground. She works alongside clients to translate complex needs into clear, actionable plans that support implementation and long-term impact.

Why I do this work

I do this work because I have seen—firsthand—how systems can either support people or fail them.

My experience spans frontline service delivery, organizational leadership, and systems development across health, social services, child and family wellbeing, and community programs. I have worked directly with individuals and families, supported staff teams, and led organizations through complex challenges.

Over time, it became clear to me that meaningful change does not come from reports alone. It comes from systems that are designed with real-world conditions in mind—systems that reflect lived experience, cultural context, and operational reality.

This is why I focus on building practical, grounded solutions that help communities, organizations, and companies move from planning into action. I believe in building systems that work for the people being serviced but also the people working within them.
